A Taxing View

Ah MoveOn.org. The site that keeps on giving ... idiocy.
Give the rich money? No one says that. Some people believe in subsidies, but that's for companies and I believe those are wrong. Businesses should succeed and fail of their own accord.

But give the rich money? That's "code" for lowering taxes. Taking away less of their money is equivalent to giving them money.

And yes, George, many of the poor have lost incentive. What is really needed is more charities and less government entitlements. There is humility when a person gives you money. There is entitlement when the government gives you money.

But there is a different way to look at taxes. Alan Keyes points out that innocent tax payers do not have the same rights as criminals.
If you break the law by not paying taxes, will you then get the right to remain silent?

Do you have the right to remain silent during a simple tax audit? Isn't a tax audit sort of like being accused of a crime?
