Review of "Bordertown"

Reviewing a new show based on the first episode is not really that fair but sometimes the first episode can be so bad you cannot resist. Bordertown is such a show because of the initial distortion of current political topics.

But let's start with something good to say.

A unique animation style was created for the show and it works. I like it.

However, the writing is horrible. The first episode is dealing with today's mainstream politics and pop culture. The writers don't understand parody and use misrepresentation instead. The core of the episode deals with immigration and how people in a border town want to deport immigrants, not illegal immigrants but immigrants. It made me automatically hate the show by representing people that want laws upheld instead be represented as bigots.

There were some attempts at making fun of liberals but those jokes were bad or disgusting. Paraphrase: "I want you to impregnate me with your baby so I can fight for the right to abort it." Yeah. Abortion is legal in this country and the show takes place in California. She really needs to fight for an abortion.

There were a couple funny jokes, a chuckle worthy side story with a UFO, and a good parody of a mangina that just graduated from college.

Other than that I am crossing my fingers episode two actually had more time for the writers to actually develop some parodies and jokes.

Remembering Breitbart

Google Flags Breitbart as a Malicious Site

We are at the one year anniversary of Breitbart's passing and how does Google celebrate it? By labeling his site as malicious.

Okay. Maybe I am late to the party on this, but I didn't find anyone else writing about it. If there is, please comment and add a link below. Let's give credit where credit is due.

I was doing research to see if anyone had written about something a bit absurd I read on a dot gov blog. Indeed people had. One place I found this topic I was researching was at Breitbart.com.

If I were to use the results of just one search to besmirch a search engine would be wrong. However, Google can crawl a site per keyword protocol. So let us try a keyword site protocol. Go to Google and crawl the whole Breitbart.com site with site:breitbart.com. So, as you see, the results are EVERY page is malicious.

This is be a better closeup.

So, what does it mean to be deemed as a malicious site? It means Google will not give you a simple link. They give you this warning page instead.

The only way to get to the page is to copy and paste the URL out of the alert text. Otherwise, Google does not give you a simple point and click interface to Breitbrat.com.

Yeah. No search engine bias here. Google couldn't possibly have a liberal bias.

This entry was posted Sunday night and was accurate. Sometime Monday morning Google corrected the issue. Breitbart.com is no longer marked as a malicious site.

Possible explanation of why Breitbart.com was marked malicious. I just visited the site and one of the ads pushed the page off of the site to one of those "You might be a winner" ads.

Guns are EVIL! Please don't look at the data!

Every time there is a shooting the press and politicians freak out about guns. Should we let a sensational event override a sobering look at data?

His math is not perfect. The violent crimes are down 49% and murders down 49.5% in the U.S. since 1992. Basically about 50% as he stated.

Other than that, spot on.

Newsweek Uses Opinion Piece For Cover

Wimp. We remember this allegation leveled at Bush 41. This opinion piece that calls Romney a wimp even mentions that old Bush story and how Bush was NOT a wimp. And the author goes on to describe Romney as a wimp.

Really? Discredit an old wimp story then you think a new one will stick?

I tried to read the whole piece but it is just so bad that I just could not finish it. Everything said about Romney can be said about Obama. Will there be an Obama wimp story?

There is a reason this piece is so bad. Remember that pundit that thought Romney went to the NAACP just to get booed? He also said the term "Obamacare" is an insult? Yeah. That's the guy that wrote this wimpy piece.

That should make it easy to understand the silliness of the opinion.
