$4 Million to Invent What Already Exists

Once again the Department of Energy is throwing away our dollars. This time they have a $4 million contest to develop something that already exists. So what is the challenge? Design a system to charge an electric car without plugging it in. They are planning on distributing $4 million to 4 different projects for this. Seriously. I am not making this up!

For anyone that thinks that the charging of your mobile devices wirelessly on a pad is amazing, you're wrong. Wireless energy has been a reality since the 1800's. So if you think the Dept. of Energy is forward-thinking, truth is they are late to the game. If the consumers want this, the private sector will make it.

Guess what. The private sector is already making this. Just go to YouTube and do a search for "wirelessly charging electric car." There is video after video of this technology.

This is the most profound video of all the ones posted here. It shows us the company haloIPT that focuses on creating this product.
Can you believe it? This has been the goal of the company for 20 years! This company makes this product!

What is the Dept. of Energy doing? Don't they know how to use the Internet? Don't they know how to use a search engine? Or do they already have some "friends" slated to give the money to? Stop wasting our money! This product exists! It is not the governments role to pick winners and losers in a technology race by handing out our tax dollars! STOP IT! STOP IT! STOP IT!
