Syrian Refugee Petitions

The Middle East is a hot bed of Islamic terrorists and people that chant "Death to America!" Does this sound like a pool of people we want coming to America?

MoveOn.org thinks so.

MoveOn.org has a petition to accept more "refugees" from Syria and elsewhere. This is what the petition states:

There is a refugee crisis happening right now and the U.S. needs to show leadership and kindness by accepting these refugees from Syria and elsewhere. Germany is accepting 800,000 refugees while we are only accepting in the few thousands. We have the wealth to do it, so let's do it!

That last line gets me. We have the wealth? Is MoveOn not aware of our debt, deficiet, and unemployment rate? Do they not know how many people are already on food stamps?

The crazy thing is they almost have the 75,000 signatures needed! But that is MoveOn's threshold.

So let us look at the White House's petition board.

Yup. There is a petition there too, but it needs a total of 100,000 signatures by Sept 30th and is about 12,000 away from the goal. It calls to resettle 65,000 refugees. This will only get a response from the White House, not legislation.

Could be worse, and it is! This petition wants to let in 140,000 refugees! It has an October 3rd deadline and is 99,000 signatures away.

This petition wants to allow the refugees to apply for citizenship after 1,000 days instead of 5 years.

Does anyone believe in protecting our interests?

YES!

This petition calls for blocking refugees from Syria and other Gulf states. It only has 365 of the needed 100,000 signatures with a deadline of October 12th.

Sign it now!

Sending In The Problem To Solve The Problem?

Today's blog post from the Department of State is about a global partnership to combat violent extremism (terrorism). It is mostly a bunch of flowery language making assertions about the goals and idealism that are pretty much counter to observed behavior of the administration. I'm not going to comment on that because it is just talk.

However, there is noted in the post something that just makes my head hurt. Here is the nuttery:

Third, we expanded where we focus our efforts -- from areas on the periphery of active conflicts to prisons in our own countries where inmates can be radicalized. In Italy, where this week’s conference gathers, the Ministry of Justice recently launched a program to have 15 imams and 40 cultural mediators work with prisoners. The initiative has been so successful, they are already looking to scale it up.

There is radicalization happening in jails so they are sending imams to the jail. Really? Am I the only one that sees this might be a problem? Well it says that the program is successful. As of this writing I could not find references to this program so no stats on success. Maybe my search skills are not good enough because I could only find articles about imams being put in jail.

If you can find an article or study about the success of the program please post in the comments.

ISOT, not ISIS or ISIL

ISIS means Islamic State in Iraq and Syria. ISIL means Islamic State of Iraq and Levant.

How about we just settle for ISOT : Islamic State Of Terrorism.

However, if you are properly rude you may prefer IBF : Islamic B**t F**k*rs.

What do you think?

What should we call them?

Homeland Securities and White Terrorists

This is not big news that Homeland Security has a campaign "If You See Something, Say Something." You probably already know there was a video produced that portrays terrorists as white men, not middle-eastern heritage.

Why am I bringing this up?

Department of Homeland Security homepage currently has as its top link this program with the video. Really?

Something the Obama Administration got Right

AllGov.com is a nice website to get tipped off on different news stories about outrageous stuff the government is doing. However, the site takes a decidedly slanted left stance on the stories.

Both AllGov and the Sydney Morning Herald have given the Obama administration a little dig for something that they did right! It seems these two news organizations think it is unprecedented for an administration to label someone that leaks government secrets, even during a time of war, an enemy. The Obama administration considers WikiLeaks an enemy and that is unprecedented?

WikiLeaks is an enemy of the U.S.!

The only way I could be against the Obama administration on this would be their reason for doing so. We have to get into conspiracy theory here.

Could this just be a method to clamp down on free speech? The recent attacks on the U.S. in the Middle East in which the Obama administration blamed a YouTube video, blamed a private citizen that was arrested on "unrelated charges," tried to have this video taken down, shows the administration's abhorrence of free speech.

I, however, think they just got it right. Leaking government secrets is bad.

Bloomberg Inspired Taliban Attack

The Taliban have taken a cue from Mayor Bloomberg. They staged an attack on a hotel because the patrons were consuming alcohol. Alcohol may not be as evil as a 64 ounce soda but it is still bad and the behavior of consuming it needs to be stopped. Eventually Islam will come around and fight soda consumption too.

Okay. I might be a little unfair here. It is not right to disparage Islam by highlighting the worst of the worst.

Islam is a wonderful religion. It gives a guide to life and politics. It is respectful of people in every way and protects them.

So here is a video of the police following Islamic law and beating a woman.

Enjoy!

$100 Terrorism

Do you want to pass through the TSA quickly?

$100, done. [[1][2][3][4]] What does that mean?

Poor TSA. Darned if they do and darned if they don't. Not really. We need security for our airlines. How do you secure it? Profiling. But that screams racism in todays PC world. Does an infant in a cast pose a threat? Probably not. A 30 something olive skinned man with a rag on his head? Maybe. Shake him down and leave the infant alone.
