The Awful 47%

#ObamaPhone was trending on twitter today. Was this a new meme to illustrate Obama's incompetence?

No.

This is about a woman bragging about government swag. She's going to vote for Obama because he gave her a phone.

Sound familiar? Just in case you forgot, how about the "Obama is going to pay my mortgage and gas" clip?

Yes. It is that awful 47% Romney can not convince to vote for him. Obama wages class war and urges attacks on the income of the rich. Romney promotes indifference. Attack vs. Indifference. Who's the real awful one?

The Obama phone gal is really making me resent the 47%. Why should I pay taxes? I pay for my phone and everything else. Obviously I pay for her phone and everything else too.

The 53% are not doing enough, though. Especially the rich. Obama supporters will shoot their foot off just to tax the rich. They are so under the spell of class war fare that regardless of their situation they believe they are being screwed by the rich, not the government that takes their money, unless they are of the set that get the Obama phone.

Unions can no longer take its members dues and support political candidates that a member does not want them to support. Unfortunately the government can take your money and buy stuff for other people. As long as a candidate promises free stuff to one set of people while making another pay for it they will get votes. Some of those getting fleeced will actually go for it because they think it is compassionate.

However, government swag is not a gift; it is a set of chains; it is a burden of dependency. This clip of Alan Keyes that I saw at iOwnTheWorld explains it best:

47% and no Change

By now you have probably heard the Romney 47% comments on hidden video. I have yet to see a nice continuous video to see the thing uncut. I keep hearing both sides spin what is being said. Even the Obama campaign.

The following video is the Obama campaign trying to make hay out of it and totally flubbing it. To me it sounds like when Romney talks about the 47% he means the 47% of voters who will vote for Obama no matter what. He goes on to generalize the type of people supporting Obama.

Some people say he is talking about the 47% that do not pay taxes. Are you kidding? If the people that didn't pay taxes were voting for Obama and only part of the 53% tax payers were undecided meaning most were for Romney this election is moot. There will be civil unrest as the tax payers rise up and revolt. First stop, the nearest Occupy demonstration to kick some 4$$.

But watch and the pay attention to the Obama clip in this.

You can't change Washington from the inside? Really. Wasn't Obama's message Hope and Change? But he got elected because of change. But what good does that do if you can't change Washington from the inside? It's a circular problem.

Then he cut taxes on the middle class and passed health care, i.e. ObamaCare? Didn't SCOTUS just call it a tax? A mandatory tax with a special separate penalty? That sounds like a raise in taxes.

And the people made ObamaCare happen? Not really. Remember all of the special exemptions? And now we know that Al Franken did not win the election because of all of the ineligible felon votes! That means there would not have been enough votes for ObamaCare if Franken's opponent was in office. For ObamaCare to pass some more "deals" would need to be made.

Obama is right. He couldn't change Washington. He had to make all sorts of special deals to get legislation passed. Does that sound like change?

But ObamaCare is popular among his supporters. In fact, Romney is correct in that Obama supporters depend on the government. In fact this "Vote Early" video has the supporter claiming that health care is a "right."

Wow. Doctors. You hear that? Everybody has a right to your services. You have to serve them under government decree according to the Obama supporters.

Yeah. This in no way sounds like socialism, dependence, or government force. But there are definitely victims. Doctors and tax payers.

You Want To Talk About The One Percent?

You know how Occupy Wall Street demonizes the "one percent?" How evil those people are? Complain that they can get away with anything?

Want to make an Occupier's head explode?

Tell them that the rich in China can hire people to serve their time in jail. Yeah. And the Occupiers want to do away with the American system.

A Little Common Sense

Lee Doren as usual gives an awesome commentary on the "life of Julia," capitalism, socialism, and the OccupyWallStreet mentality.

Obama-hole

Not Safe For Work!
Jon Lovitz just goes off on a rant about Obama and the government. It is a great rant, but there is a lot of cursing. I want to highlight some of the really neat things he said, but what a waste. The Daily Caller did that anyways, but didn't highlight the more brilliant musings. They just noted what might sound controversial.

They Still Miss The Point

It is hard to believe that this video was found at MoveOn.org, "... an American non-profit, progressive or liberal public policy advocacy group and political action committee ..."

The many points raised in this video describe the horrific conditions that women live with in Muslim nations. This highlights the modern ideals we hope could become part of the culture of the Middle East with the introduction of Democracy:

  • Education for Women
  • Stop Mutilation of Women
  • Stop Honor Killings
  • Stop Pedophilic Marriage
  • Financial Freedom for Women

So it may seem that the American Liberal/Progressive point of view may be coming around to supporting what the Conservatives felt was so wrong, right? I don't know. This is the caption that MoveOn put to the video:
Did you catch that shocking statistic? “Women are half the world’s population, yet they do two-thirds of the world’s work, earn one-tenth of the world’s income, and own less than one per cent of the world’s property.” (Source: World Bank) Let’s change that!
Yes MoveOn, and I caught this; You are reframing the horrific Muslim culture as an argument to support the ideals of the OccupyWallStreet movement. MoveOn is shocked by the lack of land ownership but genital mutilation is not so shocking. Given a choice, most people would choose to keep their genitals instead of owning property.

I hope that people will share this video with their friends. To improve humanity we have recognize and identify where it has gone wrong and correct it.

The video does start off its solution strong with the signs:
if she can stay in school, fight custom and tradition, and refuse to be married to a strange and older man
if she can pursue an education and get a job
she would not change only her own fate
she would change the fate of her community
perhaps her entire nation
Unfortunately after this the solution tries to fine tune the idea to all that is needed is an education. Education is not enough. Back when America had slavery, if a slave was educated it would not make them free. Likewise, education will not free women while Sharia keeps them down. Laws, customs, and traditions need to change.

I fear that with the Muslim Brotherhood becoming part of the political establishments in the aftermath of the Middle East revolutions, this problem will only get worse.

Just in case MoveOn realizes their callousness about the plight of women described in the video, here is a screen capture for posterity:

Free(k) Speech

The First Amendment is great. Free speech. The ability to speak out against what you believe is wrong.

I am sick of the OccupyWallStreet event. It is a great exercise of free speech, and they truly get to do it for free. Events, protests, and other public gatherings require a permit from the city/county/state. Sometimes permits cost money. Some of the Occupy movements have not received a permit for their protest. Due to this flaunting of proper procedure the Richmond Tea Party is asking for their money back after paying for their event.

If the Tea Party gets their money back, I will have to admit that the OccupyWallStreet movement made free speech free.

There is of course the whole argument of "free." Free speech is paid for by the blood of patriots. However, many of us have been lucky enough to serve our country without having to shed our blood, but we still paid for it with years of service. Most people have not even done that.

There is one thing that the OccupyWallStreet movement does not realize about free speech: you have the right to say what you want, not the right to force people to listen. The human microphone is a really neat concept since it gets around electronic amplification ordinances, but it is so cultish. The Occupy crowd looks like a Jonestown waiting to happen, if they had a leader to lead them.

And as I mention Jonestown, I must protest the bad name it has given Kool-Aid. Truth be told, Jones was cheap and used Flavor-Aid, a cheap Kool-Aid rip-off.
I need to reiterate, you have the right to speak but not the right to make me listen.

Hence, here are free speech advocates forcing free-listening by speaking at events in which they are not invited speakers.

We understand you want to send a message. If we want to hear it we will go to the protests, watch your videos, and read your blogs. However, some people are going to events to hear something else.

If you believe free speech gives you the right to make us listen to you, we might take up the belief that our freedom of speech gives us the right to silence you. Every action has an equal and opposite reaction.

What would 99% do?

It is hard to believe that the people that expanded the country to the West did it without iPhones, the Internet, or protesting. They did it with a few tools, inspiration, and perspiration. The tools and opportunities that are available to us today are mind-boggling. What are your desires? Given the chance to fulfill them, would you?

Let us then forget desires.

Let us focus on something you really believe in. You believe in it so much you join a protest. You camp out in a park day after day, night after night, week after week. In this bad economy you believe a job is a right. You demand that Wall Street provides jobs.

Then it happens. Job providers come to you. They meet your demands. They come providing jobs.

And then you say...
